Module SIX – Chapter 2 – DESIGNING WITH SHAPES AND LAYERS

I have chosen ten images for the exercises of this Chapter, some are the same of Chapter One, others have been selected from my greater collection of water and sky photos.

In some instances I have cropped and/or posterized the pictures in order to emphasize their lines. For this I used the poster effect of the PaintShop Pro software (Effects Menu ---> Artistic Effects ---> Posterize).

All the following photo collages are virtual: the intermediate stages were photographed and then cut again, in some cases just once and in others twice.

This is the procedure I used to make the computerised collages:
First I opened all the pictures I wanted to use in each collage, resized them to have them fit on a single page, then opened a new page of adequate size and moved them on this by means of the copy and paste feature of the Edit Menu. I am explaining because it took me an hour to find a way of doing this and maybe somebody else is interested! I can explain the process in more detail if needed.

  2. This is so cool. A far too creative work of art. I agree with ferinn, sample 5 does have a great sense of movement. And it looks like how an echo is depicted.
